Why Every North Carolina Home Needs Annual Chimney Inspection
An annual chimney inspection is a yearly professional evaluation of a chimney, flue, and connected appliance. NFPA 211 recommends that chimneys, fireplaces, and vents be inspected at least once a year for soundness, freedom from deposits, and correct clearances. It applies to every venting system in a North Carolina home — wood, gas, oil, or pellet — because deterioration, blockages, and creosote build up whether or not the fireplace is used often.
