After Fire Clean Up Company: Who to Call for Soot and Smoke
If you had a fire in your fireplace or wood stove and now there is soot and smell in the flue, the company you want is a chimney sweep. If a fire inside the chimney itself occurred, NFPA 211 calls for a Level 2 inspection before you burn again. If smoke damaged rooms, walls and contents, that is fire and smoke damage restoration — a separate trade from chimney work.
